INSPIRE YOUR COMMUNITY

Recipients of North Carolina Clean Energy Champion Awards

AWARD IDEAS:

  • Clean Energy Adoption: Recognize local companies that are investing in clean energy. Whether a large corporation or a small business (or both), clean energy installations are a great story to tell because of their environmental impact and the cost savings they can provide over time.

  • Innovation: Highlight a company that has devised a unique or innovative way to decrease emissions, adopt new technologies, or practice sustainability.

  • Social Responsibility: Is there a company that has created a local grant fund to help small businesses decrease emissions, be more energy efficient, or implement sustainability? Has someone donated solar panels to a local non-profit or helped retrofit a community center?

  • Legislator of the Year: This is a great opportunity to recognize local legislators or policymakers who have been supportive of clean energy.

  • Waste and Recycling: Many companies are proactive in decreasing waste and improving recycling efforts as part of a “Green Team”. Honor those who have gone above and beyond.

All communities have businesses that are doing their part to reduce energy consumption, practice sustainability, or reduce emissions. This presents an opportunity to applaud your member companies for their good work while highlighting the bottom-line benefits of these proactive sustainability strategies.

Hosting an awards ceremony or simply creating a public recognition platform to recognize the proactive work of your members and community groups is an easy way to further clean energy adoption and fight climate change.
