San Francisco Chamber Leads on Clean Energy Innovation & Economic Revitalization

This month, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce hosted a blockbuster event celebrating the opening of the YesSF headquarters in downtown San Francisco. With over 500 attendees, the event captured the attention of the local business community and underscored the Chamber’s leadership in driving both innovation and economic growth.

The Yes SF program, led by the Chamber along with Salesforce, Citibank, Deloitte, the World Economic Forum, and over 20 other companies, is fostering the next generation of sustainable startups. These 14 innovators share a common thread: they all add value by working to make infrastructure more sustainable, developing breakthroughs in clean energy, revitalizing San Francisco, and enhancing outdoor space. By positioning these startups at the intersection of sustainability and urban development, the program is creating new opportunities for job growth and business development.

Yes SF’s new headquarters features a key element of the program. With the support of program partners and the City of San Francisco, Chamber leaders Emily Abraham and Jenny Feinberg set up a collaboration and co-working space directly across from the Chamber in the heart of the financial district. The space includes a coffee bar, meeting and co-working space, and a place for climate tech and sustainability innovators to come together.

Of the 14 innovators in the current cohort, many are focused on clean energy innovation, including Posh Electric’s mobile battery storage that can replace diesel generators, It’s Electric’s utilization of spare energy from buildings to power curbside EV chargers, and Sun Ice Energy storing solar power using a special material that freezes and melts as energy is needed—to name just a few.

“The Yes SF Headquarters will serve as a central hub, a welcoming ‘living room’ for downtown, where residents from all neighborhoods can gather, collaborate, and participate in shaping San Francisco’s future. Our long-term goal is to contribute to the city’s resurgence by providing a dynamic environment that fosters sustainable innovation, economic growth, and community connection,” said President and CEO of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, Rodney Fong.

Congrats to the San Francisco Chamber! Applications are now open for next year’s program cohort at YesSF.org.
