Arizona: Home to the New Electric Valley, Attracting New Jobs and Investments

Arizona is attracting the startup electric vehicle (EV) sector, bringing thousands of additional jobs and billions of capital investment to the state, having some nickname the area the “Electric Valley”.


The jobs and economic discussion featured experts from the Casa Grande Chamber, Arizona economic development and commerce organizations, and from three top EV companies- Lucid Motors, Nikola, and ElectraMeccanica.

Massive solar, battery storage project proposed in Maricopa County

Called Harquahala Sun Photovoltaic Solar Energy Generation and Storage Project, the development will cover more than 1,100 acres near the southwest corner of 483rd Avenue and Courthouse Road, which is in the Tonopah area south of Interstate 10 and west of Buckeye.

Phoenix mayor joins US Secretary of Transportation in climate change meeting

A group of mayors, including Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, joined U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg in a virtual event to talk about climate change Monday. Buttigieg said the priority at all levels of government should be to invest in infrastructure that helps reduce emissions and pollution.

Navajo Nation gets $1M federal grant to help power Arizona homes with clean energy - KTAR.com

PHOENIX - The U.S. Department of Energy on Monday announced a grant of more than $1 million for a Navajo Nation project to power two dozen Arizona homes with clean energy. The tribe will use the $1,185,409 in funding to help bring electricity to unpowered homes in the northeastern Arizona community of Kayenta through a solar microgrid with battery storage and a backup propane generator.
